Before Travelling

Climate

The average temperature is 25-28°C, 78-82°F during the day but at night it can fall to 16-18°C, the low 60°Fs. The higher up you get, the cooler it will be; so take a jersey, if hiking up the mountain. Average annual rainfall is 42 insurance.

Money

  • Currency: The florin or guilder is the local currency, but US dollars are accepted everywhere. Visa and Mastercard are the only widely accepted credit cards. Hotels and dive shops accept credit cards, but no one else does. You may be charged extra for using credit cards because of the slow processing arrangements.
  • Departure Tax: Airport departure tax is US$5 to Netherlands Antilles, US$10 elsewhere.
