Postal Services:
The Post Office will hold mail, but only for two weeks. Letters sent c/o Capiteneri Marina Port La Royale, Marigot, will be kept 4-6 weeks.

Telephone Services:
There are several telephone booths on the French side but they only take telephone cards. 120 units for 90F, sold at the post office and at the bookshop opposite. There are 8 telephones on the square in Marigot and 2 in Grand Case in front of the little pier. To call the Dutch side use the code 00-599-54. To call the French side from the Dutch side use the code 00-590. All Dutch side numbers have 5 digits while French side numbers have 6. Calls from one side of the island to the other are expensive.
Newspapers:
Le Monde, France Soir and Le Figaro from France are available 1-3 days after publication. France Antilles, same day. A few German and Italian magazines are sold at Maison de la Presse (opposite post office) and other locations.
