There are 9 casinos, which are a major attraction, most are open from noon to 0200. The largest is Casino Royale at the Maho Beach Hotel, open 1300-0400 daily.

Lightning is across from Simpson Bay Yacht Club Marina on Airport road, also sport via satellite. The Studio 7 discothèque at Grand Casino, Mullet Bay, is the most visited, entrance US$10 including one drink, can be higher if they have a special show, all drinks US$6, the disco starts late, recommended to pass the time in Cheri’s bar, a five minute walk away, when people leave there most head for the disco. Comedy Club (Maho) have stand up comedians Tuesday-Sunday, 2130 and 2330, US$10 cover charge, most comedians from HBO or Carsons, well worth the price. Most resorts have live entertainment, such as limbo dancing, fire eating or live music, both local and international. In Philipsburg, The Movies, on Pondfill, has newly released films, US$5. The News is good for dancing, with live music every other night, extremely popular. Look out for Jack (Irish folk songs etc), G-Strings (pop-rock 1950s-70s), King Beau Beau, the most popular bands of the last few years, whose music fills all the bars.
