2 safe places for holding mail are Bobby’s Marina, PO Box 383, Philipsburg and Island Water World, PO Box 234, Cole Bay. It is not possible to send a parcel by sea, only airmail which is expensive.

Telephone Services:
Telephone codes for the Dutch side of the island can be bought at Landsradio telecommunications office in Cannegieter St, open 0700 until midnight, or at Landsradio’s offices at Simpson Bay, Cole Bay and St Peter’s. Note that card phones at Juliana airport, although marked as ‘téléphone’ and displaying instructions in French, do not work with French phone cards.

Romic Cyber Café, Orange Bowl Shopping Centre, Cole Bay, T43250. Send or receive email, browse the internet, closed Sunday. St Maarten Yacht Club Marina Business Centre and Simpson Bay Marina Business Centre have computers and email service.

- Newspapers: free weekly newspaper, Today, published in English and distributed in hotels, retail stores and other outlets on Sint Maarten, Anguilla and St Barthélémy as well as on regional airlines. The Chronicle, The Herald Caribbean and The Guardian come out six times a week and Newsday twice a week. After 1500 in the shops on Front Street or at the airport you can find US newspapers (New York Times, Miami Herald and San Juan Star). American magazines (30-40% more expensive than the USA) are especially good at Paiper Garden, Front Street.
