There is excellent diving all round St Barts, especially out round the offshore rocks, like the Groupers, and islands like Ile Fourche. Sometimes in May the migrating sperm whales pass close by. From April to August female sea turtles come to Colombier, Flamands and Corossol to lay their eggs.

There are four dive shops in Gustavia: La Bulle, T276225; St Barth Plongée, T275444; Marine Service, T277034, West Indies Dive, T279179 and Odysée Caraïbe, T275594. A single dive costs about US$50, or there are packages of five or 10 dives for US$220 or US$400. PADI open water certification costs US$480.
Deep sea fishing for marlin, tuna, wahoo and dolphin can be arranged with Océan Must Marina at La Pointe, Gustavia, T276225, F279517, VHF 10, who also charter boats for cruising, diving, waterskiing and offer a full service marina. Marine Service at Quai du Yacht Club, Gustavia, T277034, F277036, VHF 74, also do deep sea fishing trips and the same watersports and boat rentals. The price depends on the type of boat (4-8 people) and ranges from US$470-640 for a half day to US$780-1,100 for a full day with open bar and picnic lunch. The catch is the property of the boat.
