Getting There
Air
Winair has several daily 20-min flights from St Maarten (US$80 return) connecting with flights from the USA, Europe and other islands. It is possible to get to Statia in a day from many US cities. There are other connecting Winair flights from St Kitts (15 mins) and Saba (10 mins). Golden Rock Airways can arrange charters. All flights are in small planes, although the airport has been extended to 1,600m to allow larger jets to land. You get an impressive view of The Quill when you come in to land.

Ports of Entry
The Harbour Office is open 0800-1700, after hours sailors should see guard at the gate who will give directions to the local police station. If not leaving before 0800 clear customs in the morning, T82205, F82888, VHF Channel 14. The Harbour Master, Murvin Gittens, works Monday-Friday, 0800-1600. Fly an Antillean flag.
Anchorages
Oranje Baii is the only anchorage, prices are based on tonnage, 0-5 tons US$5; 6-15 tons US$10; +16 tons US$15. These rates are valid for three days. After three days, sailors pay an extra fee of US$5 per day. The long pier accommodates ships with draft not exceeding 14ft, the short pier has vessels with draft of up to 10ft. Marine weather is on VHF 1 or 162.550 MHz continual broadcast. Blue Bead Restaurant sells ice.
