Run by Win and Laura, about the nicest place to stay, popular with divers and sailors, rooms sparsely furnished but large, includes breakfast, ceiling fans, not always very clean, some rooms overlook bar, more expensive have spectacular sea view, accepts Visa/Mastercard.
A Golden Era Hotel, Lower Town, PO Box 109, T82345, F82445, Email: gold...@sintmaarten.net On the beach, modern, 20 rooms, not much charm but convenient and dive shop on premises, manager Roy Hooker is also the cook, friendly but extremely slow service, snack bar/restaurant good, credit cards.
C Country Inn, at Concordia near airport, Biesheuvelweg, owned by Mrs Iris Pompier, T/F82484. 6 guest house rooms, noisy a/c but essential, TV, fridge, includes breakfast, other meals on request, hot and cold water, travellers’ cheques but no credit cards.

On road to airport, 3 mins’ walk, 9 apartments, 1 or 2 bedrooms, a/c, TV, mini-fridge, bar and restaurant, barbecue, weekly and monthly rates negotiable. Off the road towards The Quill, D Daniel’s Guest House, on Rosemary Laan, T82358. Unmarked, ask in Brown’s supermarket at bottom of road, Miz Brown is very helpful, no hot water but use of kitchen, taxi available.
