Telephone Services:
Grand Turk, Provo and South Caicos have a modern local and international telephone service, with Cable and Wireless offices in Grand Turk and Provo. Telephone services on the North and Middle Caicos and Salt City are improving. There are two exchanges, 946 and 941. Local directory assistance T118, international operator T115; credit card calls T111, 1-800-8778000.

The small volume of international calls means that costs are higher than in the USA. The local phone book has a list of charges to anywhere in the world. Phone cards are available from Cable and Wireless and from many outlets including Provo airport in US$10, US$20 and US$40 denominations plus 10%. The Cable and Wireless Public Sales Office in Grand Turk and Provo has a public fax service, F9462497/4210. Credit card calling, dial 111, three minutes minimum. Paging service is popular among businesses and cell phones are widely used. Many visitors bring their own cell phones, or you can rent one while on the islands. International calls from cell phones cost the same as from a regular phone. Internet service is also available. There is a telephone directory published by Olympia Publishing (saunders@tciway.tc) with lots of useful information about the TCI, more useful than the Cable & Wireless directory.

Postal Services:
On Grand Turk the post office is on Front Street near Barclays Bank, T9462801. Federal Express, T9462542 (Grand Turk), T9464682 (Provo); DHL, T9464352 (Provo); UPS agent, T9462030, F9462995, incoming only package delivery, Cee’s Building, Pond Street, Grand Turk and on Provo through Provo Travel, T9464080, F9464081. Postage for postcards US$0.50 to USA, US$0.60 Canada/UK, US$0.80 Europe, US$1.10 Africa. Letters each half an ounce US$1, US$2, US$15, US$10 respectively.
