The Turks and Caicos National Trust

Historic Cheshire Hall erected by The Turks and Caicos National Trust

The National Trust is a relatively new, non-profit, non-governmental conservation organization, working in co-operation with the Government, the World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy and local people to preserve the natural and historical heritage of the islands and develop sustainable tourism to keep the Turks and Caicos Islands ‘beautiful by nature’.

Projects in hand include: an exhibition on national parks, endangered animals and the islands’ history in the departure terminal at Provo airport; a historically-oriented public park around the Cheshire Hall plantation ruins near downtown Provo; public access to the 100-acre Bird Rock Point Natural Area on the northeast tip of Provo for walking and birdwatching; a fund-raising campaign and work with the Government on a financial framework for the long-term management of the national parks.
